- עולים: חבר בין השנים 1937 ל-1939 (או 1940), שם שימש כמדריך לחינוך גופני ואימוני כושר,,,.
- ניסיון בריחה ראשון: בתקופת המלחמה, בעת ששהה בטשקנט (1941–1942), ניסה יחד עם חברו יעקב ינקלוביץ' לארגן בריחה לא חוקית לארץ ישראל דרך איראן או אפגניסטן בסיוע עורך דין ממוסקבה בשם שטיבלמן, אך הניסיון לא צלח,,–,.
פעילותו בארגון "בריחה"
יופה שימש כאמיסר (שליח) מרכזי של ארגון "בריחה" הלא-חוקי,,.
- גיוסו למשימה: ביולי 1945 יצא באופן לא חוקי לפולין בתחפושת של פליט פולני,. באיטליה פגש נציג ציוני בשם יחיאל שקישר אותו ל**"אלכסנדר"** (צבי דנציגר), ראש ארגון "בריחה" בלודז', שגייס אותו לשוב לברית המועצות כשליח כדי לארגן הברחת יהודים,,–,.
- שיטות הפעולה: יופה פעל בעיקר בווילנה ובליטא,,. הוא הקים רשת שהבריחה יהודים לפולין באמצעות מסמכים מזויפים שנרכשו משוחד שניתן לחברי ועדות הרפטריאציה הסובייטיות-פולניות (כגון קארפוב בברנוביץ' ואברט בקלצק/ברנוביץ'),,,,.
- היקף הפעילות: יופה העריך כי הצליח להבריח כ-100 עד 150 איש בין דצמבר 1945 לספטמבר 1946,,,. הוא שיתף פעולה באופן צמוד עם יעקב ינקלוביץ', שניהל את הפעילות בריגה,,,.

מעצר וגזר דין
- המעצר: יופה נעצר ב-27 בספטמבר 1946 בתחנת הרכבת בברנוביץ', כשניסה להימלט בעצמו לפולין עם ינקלוביץ' תחת הזהות הבדויה "האחים פישמן",,,,.
- המשפט: ב-30 באוגוסט 1947 נידון יופה על ידי "המועצה המיוחדת" של ה-MGB ל-25 שנות מאסר במחנות עבודה (ITL) באשמת בגידה במולדת, ניסיון לבגידה והשתתפות בקבוצה אנטי-סובייטית,,.
תאריך פטירה ומצב רפואי
המקורות אינם מציינים את תאריך פטירתו של יופה. המסמך המאוחר ביותר המופיע במקורות הוא אישור רפואי מתאריך 24 במאי 1956, המפרט תלונות על חולשה, כאבי בטן, סחרחורות ודימום בחניכיים בתקופת מאסרו בין 1946 ל-1947, אך הוא אינו מספק מידע על גורלו לאחר מכן או על מועד מותו.
